When a Dog Does Damage
RSA 466:19 — the owner or keeper pays
A person to whom, or to whose property, sheep, fowl and other domestic creatures included, a dog they do not own or keep causes damage may recover from the person who owns, keeps or possesses the dog.
Who handles this in New Hampshire: legal aid programs, lawyer referral and the state offices, listed in the New Hampshire directory.
Not where the damage was to a person engaged in committing a trespass or other tort. Where the owner or keeper of the dog is a minor, a parent or guardian is liable.
