In Pennsylvania, knowingly or intentionally possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription or other authorization under the act is prohibited. For the substances this clause covers, it is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison, a fine of up to $5,000, or both, with more after a prior conviction.
