Someone asked
“How long does a landlord in Nebraska have to return a deposit?”
Getting The Deposit Back
When the tenancy ends, the landlord may apply the deposit to unpaid rent and damages from the tenant's noncompliance, and delivers or mails the balance with a written itemization within fourteen days.

Ask for a page
Name the topic or the situation. A person reads every request, and what people ask for decides which Nebraska pages get written next.
Leave it blank and the request stays anonymous. We do not record your IP either way.
About this guide — education built from the Nebraska Revised Statutes as the Nebraska Legislature publishes them, not a law degree in a webpage. Applying it to a particular situation is the work of a licensed Nebraska attorney or a legal aid office. Current as of October 2026.
This guide covers common situations in real Nebraska encounters. Not the whole legal code, not a replacement for a lawyer.
