Revoking a Will
AS 13.12.507 — a later will, or burning, tearing or canceling it meaning to revoke it
- A later will that revokes it, expressly or by being inconsistent with it.
- Burning, tearing, canceling or obliterating it, by the person or by someone in their conscious presence at their direction, meaning to revoke it.
Who handles this in Alaska: legal aid programs, lawyer referral and the state offices, listed in the Alaska directory.
A will, or part of one, is revoked either way. A later will that does not say it revokes the earlier one still revokes it entirely by inconsistency if the person meant the later will to replace it.
