A.R.S. 13-1802 — the class of a theft follows the value, from under $1,000 to $25,000 or more

A felony whatever the value. Theft of property taken from the person of another, of a firearm, or of an animal taken for animal fighting is a class 6 felony even when it is worth less than $1,000. Theft of a vehicle engine or transmission is a class 4 felony regardless of value.
Theft covers more than taking. It includes knowingly controlling another's property with intent to deprive, misusing property entrusted for a limited use, obtaining property or services by a material misrepresentation, keeping lost or misdelivered property without reasonable efforts to find the owner, controlling property known to be stolen, and obtaining services without paying.
