When Someone Uses Your Name
A.R.S. 13-2008 — taking the identity of another, a class 4 felony, and the right to a police report
In Arizona, knowingly taking, buying, making, recording, possessing or using another person's identifying information without consent, intending to use their identity for any unlawful purpose, to cause a loss, or to get or keep a job, is taking the identity of another, a class 4 felony. No actual loss is needed.
On request, a peace officer where any part of the offense happened, or where the person whose identity was taken lives, takes a report. The section does not apply to someone under twenty-one using another's ID to buy alcohol.
