The Registration Calendar
Penal Code 290.013 — in person within five working days of a move
Five working days. A registrant who changes residence address, within the same jurisdiction or to a new one inside or outside the state, informs the agency where last registered, in person, within five working days of the move, of the move, the new address or transient location if known, and any plans to return to California.
If the new address is not known. The registrant informs the last registering agency in person within five working days of moving, and later notifies it in writing, by certified or registered mail, of the new address within five working days of moving in.
Who must register, for how long, and the penalty for failing to report are set out in other parts of the law that are not on this page. Whether a deadline applies to a particular person is a question for a licensed California attorney.
