10 Del. C. § 9301 — the Justice of the Peace Court hears contract and property claims up to $25,000
The Justice of the Peace Court hears common law claims in contract, claims for damage to or taking of personal property, for injury to real property, and for trespass on land, where the amount in demand does not exceed $25,000.
It also hears summary possession cases between landlords and tenants, distress for rent, and truancy cases.
