Staying in Your Lane
21 Del. C. § 4122 — within a single lane, no tailgating, and no lingering in the left lane below the limit
- On a road marked into 2 or more lanes, a vehicle is driven as nearly as practicable entirely within a single lane, and not moved out of it until the driver has first made sure it is safe.
- On a road of 3 lanes for 2 way traffic, the center lane is for passing with a clear view, for a left turn, or where signs give it to one direction.
- No driver follows another more closely than is reasonable and prudent for the speed, the traffic and the road.
The left lane. Driving below the posted speed limit in the left lane of a multilane road, when it keeps 1 or more vehicles from passing, is a violation, unless the driver is turning left or lawfully leaving the road to the left.
