  • Willful and wanton reckless driving: 4 points.

  • Unlawful speed, or unlawful use of a wireless device, resulting in a crash: 6 points.
  • A violation of a traffic control signal device: 4 points.
  • Unlawfully driving through a railroad-highway grade crossing: 6 points.
  • All other moving violations, including parking on a highway outside the limits of a municipality: 3 points.

Camera violations. Points are not imposed for speed or school bus violations enforced by an automated detection system under the sections the statute names. The schedule lists moving violations; a nonmoving violation is not on it.

Insurance surcharges, commercial license rules, suspensions for a single serious offense such as impaired driving, and reinstatement fees are set elsewhere and are not on this page. Counting the points on a particular record is a question for the state's licensing agency or a licensed Florida attorney.
