The Tint On Your Windows

Fla. Stat. 316.2953 — at least 28 percent on the front side windows, and 15 percent behind the driver

In Florida, the side wings and side windows next to and forward of the driver may not be made nontransparent or have their color, reflectivity or light transmittance altered, except by sunscreening material the statute authorizes.

A noncriminal infraction. Operating with material that violates these sections is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a nonmoving violation. Replacing or repairing material that was legally installed is not a violation.

Sellers and installers. Selling or installing sunscreening material in violation of the sections is a misdemeanor of the second degree.
