Discrimination At Work
Idaho Code § 67-5909 and Idaho Code § 67-5907 — race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age and disability, and one year to file
It is a prohibited act for an employer to refuse to hire, to fire, or to otherwise discriminate in pay, terms, conditions or privileges of employment because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or disability.
The disability rule does not apply where the disability, even with a reasonable accommodation, prevents the work the job requires, and it reaches people associated with a person with a disability.
One year to file. A person who believes they were discriminated against may file a complaint under oath with the Idaho Human Rights Commission within one year of the discrimination. The commission first tries informal resolution, then investigates.
Federal law covers the same ground with its own deadlines. A particular case is a question for the commission or a licensed Idaho attorney.
