Idaho Code § 18-310 — civil rights suspended in prison, and restored on final discharge

A sentence to the custody of the board of correction suspends the person's civil rights during the imprisonment. During parole or probation, the person may exercise every civil right that is not political, apart from firearms.

Final discharge. On final discharge, meaning the satisfactory completion of imprisonment, probation and parole, a person convicted of an Idaho felony is restored the full rights of citizenship.

For treason and a long list of serious felonies, the right to possess firearms is not restored. A particular sentence is a question for the county clerk or a licensed Idaho attorney.
