Iowa Code § 562A.27B — no fines or eviction for calling the police or an ambulance
- A landlord may not prohibit or limit a tenant's right to call law enforcement or emergency help, for a victim of abuse or crime or anyone in an emergency.
- A landlord may not penalize a tenant for calling, by fines, fees, or an actual or threatened eviction.
- A lease clause waiving this is void.
- The landlord may still recover the cost of repairing property damage.
