Iowa Code § 598.21B — the supreme court's guidelines, reviewed at least once every four years
The Iowa Supreme Court keeps uniform child support guidelines, including medical support, and reviews them at least once every four years.
- A child, spousal or medical support order may be modified on a substantial change in circumstances.
- Changes considered include a party's employment, income or resources, an inheritance, medical expenses, the number or needs of dependents, health, residence, and remarriage.
- Changes in a child's physical, emotional or educational needs count too.
