Carrying a Handgun
K.S.A. 75-7c03 — a license is offered, not required, and a concealed firearm under 21 is a class A misdemeanor
That the attorney general issues licenses to carry concealed handguns is not to be read as a general ban on carrying a handgun without one, openly or concealed, loaded or unloaded.
Who handles this in Kansas: Johnson County Bar Association, Find a Lawyer; and legal aid programs and the state offices, listed in the Kansas directory.
Knowingly carrying a pistol, revolver or other firearm concealed on one's person while under 21 is criminal carrying of a weapon, a class A nonperson misdemeanor, except on one's own land, in one's home, or at one's fixed place of business.
The provisional license. The under 21 rule does not apply to someone carrying a handgun who holds a valid provisional license, or a concealed carry license from another jurisdiction that Kansas recognizes.
A license or permit from another jurisdiction is recognized only while its holder is not a Kansas resident, and lets them carry concealed handguns under Kansas law while here.
