A Small Claim
KRS 24A.230 — claims up to $2,500, not counting interest and costs
The small claims division of District Court hears civil cases where the money, damages or value of personal property claimed is not more than $2,500, exclusive of interest and costs. It also hears a buyer's claim to undo a contract for goods or services of that amount or less.
Libel, slander, malicious prosecution, abuse of process and alienation of affections are not heard there, and no attachment, garnishment or other remedy before judgment may be filed there.
