La. R.S. 32:299 — an off-road vehicle may ride the shoulder only for farm work near the farm, in daylight
Off-road vehicles such as three wheelers and four wheelers, not designed for road use, may travel on the shoulders of public roads, never an interstate, only for farm-related activities within a five mile radius of the farm, by an operator with a valid license.
- The hours run from 30 minutes after sunrise to 30 minutes before sunset.
- Crossing a public road along the way is allowed.
- The operator shows proof of liability insurance on demand.
- The rules do not apply to roads in Orleans Parish.
