Pulling Over for a Siren
La. R.S. 32:125 — pull to the right and stop for an emergency vehicle, and move over for one parked with its lights on
When an emergency vehicle approaches using its signals, every other driver yields, pulls immediately to a position as close as possible to the right edge or curb, clear of any intersection, and stops until it has passed.
Move over, or slow down. For any vehicle parked on or near the highway with its warning lights flashing, including green, amber or yellow lights, a driver on a road with two or more lanes in that direction moves into a lane not next to it if that can be done safely, and otherwise slows to a reasonably safe speed.
On a two lane road, or where a lane change is unsafe, the driver keeps a safe speed for the conditions. A violation carries a fine of not more than $200.
