The Motorcycle Helmet
La. R.S. 32:190 — every rider of a motorcycle or moped wears a helmet with the chin strap fastened
Every rider, every age. No one operates or rides on a motorcycle, motor driven cycle or motorized bicycle without wearing a safety helmet made for riders, secured with a chin strap while moving.
Local police may exempt riders taking part in a parade or public exhibition, and an autocycle with a roll bar or roll cage is outside the rule. A violation is a $50 fine, court costs included, and no other cost or fee.
