La. R.S. 14:67 — graded by value: under $1,000, up to $5,000, up to $25,000, and above

Theft is taking or misappropriating anything of value belonging to another, without consent or by fraud, with the intent to deprive the owner of it permanently. Separate takings may be added together to set the grade.
