G.L. c. 272, § 98A — a dog guide in public places and conveyances, with no extra fare

In Massachusetts, a blind, deaf or hearing handicapped, or other physically handicapped person accompanied by a dog guide is entitled to all the accommodations and privileges of public conveyances, public amusements and places of public accommodation that others are, subject only to the conditions that apply to everyone.

No extra charge or fare may be required for transporting the dog on a public conveyance.

Depriving a person of these rights is punished by a fine of not more than three hundred dollars, and the person is liable for damages under the anti discrimination chapter, of not less than one hundred dollars. Whether an animal qualifies is a question for a licensed Massachusetts attorney.
