Records for 3 years. The employer keeps a record for each employee, including hours, wages, deductions and fringe benefits, for not less than 3 years, open to inspection by the director of labor.

Who is left out of the hours. Employees in a bona fide executive, administrative or professional capacity, elected officials and their political appointees need not have their hours recorded or stated.

Payday frequency, deductions an employer may take and wage claims are not on this page. Whether a particular statement complies is a question for the state's labor department or a licensed Michigan attorney.
