Being Arrested Without A Warrant

Mo. Rev. Stat. § 544.216 — on view, or on reasonable grounds, for any law including an infraction

A Missouri sheriff or deputy, highway patrol member, or county or municipal officer may arrest without a warrant anyone the officer sees violating, or has reasonable grounds to believe has violated, any ordinance or state law within the officer's jurisdiction, including a misdemeanor or an infraction.

Officers of very small departments are excluded unless their municipality operates under the State's peace officer standards. The power adds to an officer's other powers rather than limiting them.
