On A Bicycle
Mo. Rev. Stat. § 307.188 — a driver's rights, as near the right as safe, and lights at night
In Missouri, every person riding a bicycle on a street or highway has all the rights and duties of the driver of a vehicle under the rules of the road, except the special bicycle regulations and provisions that by their nature can have no application.
As near the right as safe. Below the posted speed or the flow of traffic, a rider stays as near the right side of the roadway as safe, using due care when passing, except when turning left, avoiding hazardous conditions, when the lane is too narrow to share with another vehicle, or on a one-way street. Riders may ride abreast when not impeding other vehicles.
- From one-half hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise, a white front lamp visible at five hundred feet.
- A red rear reflector or lamp visible at six hundred feet under the lower beams of headlights.
- Reflective material or lights on the pedals, crank arms, shoes or lower leg, visible at two hundred feet.
