An Exotic Animal as a Pet
MCA 87-5-705 — exotic wildlife only as the law or the commission allows, and some species need a permit
Exotic wildlife means a species not native to the state. No one may import, possess or sell exotic wildlife unless law or commission rule allows it and the department of livestock has authorized the importation.
Who handles this in Montana: legal aid programs, lawyer referral and the state offices, listed in the Montana directory.
