Following Too Closely
Neb. Rev. Stat. § 60-6,140 — no closer than is reasonable and prudent, and one hundred feet behind a towing rig
Reasonable and prudent. A driver may not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, with due regard for the speed of the vehicles, the traffic, and the condition of the roadway.
Outside a business or residential district, a driver towing a trailer leaves room for a passing vehicle to pull in, and may not follow another towing vehicle more closely than one hundred feet.
Funeral processions are outside the spacing rule for caravans. A particular citation is a question for a licensed Nebraska attorney.
