Disposable earnings are what is left after the deductions the law requires. Earnings include wages, tips, salary, commissions and bonuses, including pay already in the debtor's bank account.
Those limits do not apply to support orders, bankruptcy orders or tax debts. For support, the limit is fifty percent where the person supports another spouse or child, sixty percent where not, and 55 percent and 65 percent for support at least 12 weeks overdue.
