Breaking a Protection Order

N.D.C.C. § 14-07.7-17 — a first violation after service is a class A misdemeanor, a second a class C felony

Once a respondent is served with a civil protection order, a first violation is a class A misdemeanor, up to 360 days and $3,000, and also contempt of court. After a conviction, a second violation is a class C felony.
