The Homestead Exemption

N.D.C.C. § 47-18-01 — the home and its land, up to $150,000 over liens, are exempt from forced sale

The homestead of a resident, married or not, is the land the claimant lives on and the house on it, with its improvements, up to $150,000 in value over liens and encumbrances. It is exempt from judgment lien, execution and forced sale, except as the chapter provides. Separate tracts count only if they are contiguous.
