Which positions are exempt from overtime under the federal act, how tipped pay is computed, which hours count as hours worked, and the occupations a minor may not be employed in at all are each their own body of law and are not walked here. Agricultural and domestic work, and certain training programs, run under exemptions this does not describe, and nothing on this page says whether a particular job is exempt or a particular shift was lawful.
