The Clock On Your Case

ORS 136.290 — 60 days in custody before trial, then release

Sixty days in custody. A defendant may not stay in custody awaiting trial more than 60 days after arrest unless the trial is continued with the defendant's express consent or extended as the law allows. If trial has not begun in that time, the court releases the defendant on recognizance, to a third party, or on reasonable conditions.
