Theft
ORS 164.015 and ORS 164.057 — what theft is, and $10,000 or more as a Class B felony
Theft in Oregon is taking, appropriating, obtaining or withholding property from its owner, with intent to deprive the owner of it or to appropriate it to oneself or someone else. It includes keeping property that was lost, mislaid or delivered by mistake, extortion, theft by deception and theft by receiving.
Aggravated theft. Theft in the first degree of property worth $10,000 or more, in a single or aggregate transaction, other than a car used mainly for personal transportation, is aggravated theft in the first degree, a Class B felony.
The lower degrees of theft, set by value, have been amended since the edition the Legislature's pages print, so this guide does not quote them until the new text is published.
