A Small Claim
R.I. Gen. Laws § 10-16-1 — claims up to $5,000 under the small claims procedure, if the plaintiff gives up an appeal
A contract claim, a claim over a retail sale or a service to the public, or a claim on a negotiable instrument, for money only and not more than $5,000 apart from interest and costs, may use the small claims procedure.
The plaintiff's choice. The plaintiff elects the procedure by waiving the right of appeal.
A particular claim is a question for a licensed Rhode Island attorney or the district court clerk.
