Turning Eighteen
R.I. Gen. Laws § 15-12-1 — full legal age, with every right once reserved for twenty-one, unless a statute says otherwise
Everyone who has reached eighteen years of age is a person of full legal age, notwithstanding any other law or the common law.
They have all the duties, obligations, rights and privileges the law once gave only to those who had reached twenty-one years of age.
Alcohol, cannabis and handgun licensing keep an age of twenty-one under their own statutes. A particular question is one for a licensed Rhode Island attorney.
