SDCL § 12-18-6.1 — a license, passport, tribal or student card with a picture, or a signed affidavit instead
- A South Dakota driver's license or nondriver identification card.
- A passport, or a federal government identification card with a picture.
- A tribal identification card with a picture.
- A current student card with a picture from a South Dakota high school, college or technical school.
A voter presents one of those when asking for a ballot.
Without one. A voter who cannot present identification may sign an affidavit with their name and address, under penalty of perjury, instead.
