Housing Discrimination
Prop. Code 301.021 — no refusal to sell or rent because of race, color, religion, sex, familial status or national origin
Under the Texas Fair Housing Act, no one may refuse to sell or rent after a good faith offer, refuse to negotiate, or otherwise make a dwelling unavailable to someone because of race, color, religion, sex, familial status or national origin.
Terms and services too. No one may discriminate on those grounds in the terms, conditions or privileges of a sale or rental, or in the services or facilities provided with it.
The section does not bar turning someone away because of a conviction for illegally manufacturing or distributing a controlled substance.
