Labor Code 62.051 — the federal minimum wage

Texas uses the federal figure. Except as the chapter provides otherwise, a Texas employer pays each employee the federal minimum wage set by section 6 of the Fair Labor Standards Act. The state statute sets no figure of its own, so a change in the federal rate changes the Texas rate.
