Crim. Proc. art. 14.03 — arrest without a warrant on probable cause of family violence

Without a warrant. A peace officer may arrest, without a warrant, a person the officer has probable cause to believe has committed an offense involving family violence, and a person believed to have prevented or interfered with another's ability to place an emergency telephone call.

Staying at the scene. If reasonably necessary to verify an allegation of family violence or of a protective order violation, a peace officer remains at the scene of the investigation to verify it and to prevent further violence.
