Va. Code 59.1-21.3 — until midnight of the third business day to cancel
In Virginia, the buyer in a home solicitation sale may cancel until midnight of the third business day after signing the agreement or offer. Cancellation is by written notice to the seller at the address in the agreement, in any written form that shows the buyer does not intend to be bound, and a mailed notice is given when it is deposited in the mailbox.
The right cannot be waived, except in a signed emergency request. Any waiver of the right to cancel is void, unless the buyer asked for goods or services without delay because of an emergency, in a dated writing signed by the buyer expressly waiving the right, the seller has substantially begun work in good faith, and any goods cannot be returned in as good condition.
The seller gives a completed receipt or agreement dated the day of the transaction, with a statement headed BUYER'S RIGHT TO CANCEL in bold type of at least ten points, and a notice of cancellation form.
