Housing Discrimination
Va. Code 36-96.3 — source of funds, elderliness and military status among the protected grounds
In Virginia it is unlawful to refuse to sell or rent after a good faith offer, refuse to negotiate, make a dwelling unavailable, or discriminate in its terms, conditions, services or facilities, because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, elderliness, source of funds, familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity or military status.
Advertising too. Publishing a notice or advertisement indicating a preference, limitation or discrimination on those grounds, or disability, is unlawful, and words or symbols associated with a religion, national origin, sex or race are prima facie evidence of an illegal preference that a general disclaimer does not overcome.
