RCW 69.50.4013 — an ounce at 21 is lawful, and possession of other drugs a gross misdemeanor
In Washington, a person 21 or older may lawfully possess useable cannabis, concentrates and infused products in the amounts retail stores may sell: one ounce of useable cannabis, 16 ounces of solid infused product, 72 ounces of liquid infused product, and seven grams of concentrate.
Not in public view. Opening a package of cannabis, or consuming it, in view of the general public or in a public place is a class 3 civil infraction.
Knowingly possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription, or knowingly using one in a public place, is a gross misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000, and up to 364 days after two or more prior convictions. Officers are encouraged to offer a referral to assessment and services in place of jail booking.
