Where Nobody May Smoke
RCW 70.160.030 — no person may smoke in a public place or any place of employment
One sentence. No person may smoke in a public place or in any place of employment.
That is the whole of the prohibition. What counts as a public place or a place of employment, and the exceptions and signs that go with it, are set out in the rest of the chapter.
Cannabis smoking, local ordinances that go further, rules in rental leases, and how a complaint is made and enforced are outside this page. Whether a particular place falls inside an exception is a question for a licensed Washington attorney or the agency that enforces the law.
