W. Va. Code § 55-7-15 — no civil liability for emergency care given in good faith and without pay
Good faith, no pay. A person, trained professionals included, who in good faith gives emergency care or help at the scene of an accident, emergency or disaster, voluntarily and without pay, is not liable for civil damages for what they do or fail to do there.
An emergency is any time a person needs immediate treatment for a medical condition from natural causes, an accident or a crime.
