Changing a Name

AS 09.55.010 — a superior court petition, sufficient reasons and the public interest, and marriage or divorce is enough

A person may bring an action in superior court to change their name. The court changes it only if it finds sufficient reasons and that the change is consistent with the public interest, and a change on marriage, dissolution or divorce meets both.
