The last 100 feet. Any signal of intention to turn right or left is given continuously during the last 100 feet traveled before turning.

When another vehicle may be affected. The duty to signal in the turning section turns on whether any other vehicle may be affected by the movement.

Hand and arm signals, and the equipment a vehicle must carry for them, are set out in neighboring sections that are not all on this page. What a particular stop or ticket means is a question for a licensed California attorney.
