WHAT EACH CHARGE CARRIES

28 charges people actually meet, each with the section it comes from, what it requires the state to show, and the most it can carry. Connecticut grades crimes as misdemeanors of class D, C, B and A and felonies of class E, D, C, B and A. Each level here gives its range from the Penal Code's sentencing sections, and an unclassified offense the term and fine its own statute sets.
