Getting Married
13 Del. C. § 107 — a license at least 24 hours before, good for 30 days, at 18 or older
- No one under the age of 18 is granted a marriage license.
- Both people appear together before the issuing officer and answer under oath.
- The license is obtained at least 24 hours before the ceremony.
- It is good for 30 days from issue, and void after that.
- A clerk of the peace issues it for $10.
A marriage between a person and an ancestor, descendant, sibling, half sibling, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew or first cousin is prohibited and void.
