When A Meeting Is Public
Idaho Code § 74-203 and Idaho Code § 74-204 — open to all, five days' notice and a forty-eight hour agenda
The policy of Idaho is that the formation of public policy is public business and shall not be conducted in secret. Every meeting of a public agency's governing body is open to the public, and no decision may be made by secret ballot.
Five days and forty-eight hours. A regular meeting takes at least five calendar days' meeting notice and a forty-eight hour agenda notice, posted at the agency's principal office and online where it has a website or social media. A special meeting takes at least twenty-four hours' notice unless there is an emergency.
Executive sessions are allowed only for the purposes the chapter lists. A particular meeting is a question for a licensed Idaho attorney.
