Pulling Over for a Siren
IC 9-21-8-35 — yield, pull to the right edge, and stop until the emergency vehicle has passed
When an authorized emergency vehicle approaches sounding a siren or showing alternately flashing red, red and white, or red and blue lights, every other driver, unless an officer directs otherwise, yields the right of way, drives immediately to a position parallel to and as close as possible to the right hand edge or curb clear of any intersection, and stops there until the emergency vehicle has passed.
Who handles this in Indiana: legal aid programs and the state offices, listed in the Indiana directory.
The section does not relieve the emergency vehicle's driver of the duty to drive with due regard for the safety of everyone using the highway.
